There's little infrastructure here. Tribal chiefs demand permission to pass on their land. All islands are difficult to access by ferry. There are few roads, and fewer vehicles. The jungle is impenetrable. Malaria. Leeches. Venomous plants.

But....

There are several reported karst areas, with decent potential. I'm only aware of one caving expedition, ever, in the 1970s, I believe to the main island of Guadalcanal.
