Jersey
September 2024
A British paradise.
Jersey is lovely.
Quite simply, the island is one big garden, with relaxed vibes, no crime, mild weather, and super friendly locals. There's pleasantly not a lot to do, which is exactly the appeal.
We spent a week on this 'country' with close ties to the United Kingdom. We walked miles and miles of tracks, swam in some chilly water, and met countless locals, both proud and humble about their eminently likeable island. The whole place is awash in history, and every nook and cranny is associated with some sort of historical allure. It definitely feels distinct from mainland England, which is so much bigger than this tiny little island.
For me personally, I grew up on the beaches of New Jersey, so it was a real treat to see the 'old' Jersey that had influenced my childhood stomping grounds. I was blown away by the surprising beauty here, and enjoyed our time.
