paraguay
February 2018
Hot, flat and wild.
Paraguay has a reputation among travelers for being dangerous and boring. In our experience, it's neither.
Asunción has a few sketchy parts, but otherwise, the country is probably the safest in all of South America, alongside nearby Uruguay.
We spent a week in Paraguay, mostly on a kayaking expedition, but also in Asunción, Concepción, and a few towns in between. The country was a biodiversity hotspot, but is recently deforested for soy plantations.
