If you only go abroad once... consider Spain.

Spain is one of THE most popular countries in the world for tourism. Beyond the crowded beaches, however, are some of the world's most picturesque villages, misty mountains, and fun-loving people. I might be biased as I am fluent in Spanish, but everyone in Spain is a character. They have a culture of storytelling and joking that is unmatched everywhere I've been.

We visited Spain for two months, mostly for caving and canyoneering. Some of the world's best canyons and most incredible caves lie in northern Spain. Truly, we had some of the best times of our lives, staying with locals, seeing the most amazing natural places, and eating better than ever. Beyond adventure, we travelled quite a bit around this amazing country, mostly by rental car. I can't wait to go back.
